Anxious thoughts naturally warn us of danger. But for some of us, especially for those of us under stress, anxiety takes over and squeezes out our ability to be our best selves. If it becomes more frequent, it can create physical symptoms, become our primary way of responding to the world around us and leave us feeling like a shadow of our competent, creative selves.
In this talk, Laurel will look at the cumulative effects of stress - personal, cultural and current - and teach how to tame racing thoughts before they completely derail us and returning the anxiety to its rightful place as a useful tool for protection without the power to run the whole show.
